Daddy and Greggy sometimes wrestle. There are nights that I would do story-telling. Then when we are all sleepy and tired, our son we’ll pray his own personalized “Thank You” prayer. I taught him to say “thank you” to Papa Jesus for all the toys and candies (in short, blessings!) that he receives each day. Sometimes his prayer gets way too long because he’s got a lot to be thankful for that day. :-)

Sometimes he would say,

“Papa Jesus, thank you for the cotton candy…
Thank you for the milk…
Thank you for the toys…
Thank you for the food…
Thank you for my mommy and daddy…
Good night. Amen po.”

Then he would turn to me and his daddy to kiss us both and would say “good night”. :-)

I called him everyday to hear his cute voice and to check how he’s doing. My mom told me that Greggy wanted to go to school with his kuya RJ (my cousin who’s in Kinder). She narrated that everyday he would wear kuya RJ’s uniform and bring his bag while walking around the house.

My son is only two years and 6 months old. It’s funny how he wants to go to school very badly. I assume he just wants to meet and play with other kids his age. One day, I called him from the office and he abruptly told me, “Mommy, go to school na ako!”. I asked him which school he wants to go to and he replied, “St. Therese! Teacher ko si Mrs. Go…” (his kuya RJ’s school and teacher). I was amazed. :-) My son really speaks well — whether in Tagalog or English. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why some people think he’s four years old already! :-)

Last month, we thought of enrolling Greggy at a day-care center in our community but we realized that he’s way too young for school so we decided to enroll him next year. But now I wish we did…

I’m so glad my brother-in-law bought one for my son when he came home from Saudi Arabia last year. Greggy started using it when he was 1 year old and he really loves playing it. It came with two books: Baby’s First Words which introduces first words, speech patterns and sound-object association and the other one is Guess How Much I Love You which introduces classical music, emotions, sound patterns and rhythms. This toy really helped in my son’s psychomotor development.

I wish to collect all the other books but unfortunately they’re only available in the US. I checked the Leap Frog website and they’re currently on sale for $3.99 (original price is at $12.99). I tried placing an order but they don’t ship to the Philippines. Too bad!!!

Anyway, I really do recommend this to all parents. Please buy one for your kids too! Check out the Leap Frog website for more educational toys. FYI, this is not a paid post. LOL.

UPDATE 7/20/2008: My husband and I went to Toy Kingdom, SM Megamall last week and found out that they’re selling this awesome Leap Pad for 3,500php. It sooo expensive! The extra books cost 999 each. Whoa! I guess I’ll just ask a friend from the US to buy the extra books that Greggy does not have since they’re way cheaper there.

I’d say the resort is very unique in its own way. It’s like an amusement waterpark too! They have a giant wave pool that is way much better than what 8 Waves has, a kiddie pool with waterfalls and fountains, Adult Pool with a giant 3-looped slide, Boating area for kayaking (yes, it’s free!), the Lap Pool, the Shaded Pool, and the Bean-shaped pool. The resort is also perfect for team buildings since you can do a lot of activities there. Entrance fee is at 260php for adults and 210php for kids over the weekend. It’s cheaper during weekdays. :-)

Anyway, I’ll just post some photos next time!

He’s so engrossed with watching Barney while having his haircut! He was even singing!

Greggy is now 2 years and five months old and he’s really tall for his age. He’s got big feet too! :-) Look at his cute photos!

From now on, I will be taking my son there everytime he needs a haircut. I think it’s a little pricey (270php) but I had never seen my son undeniably happy while having his haircut before so what the heck? Haircut is not something that you need to pay for everyday anyway.

And since my dad-in-law is an official in the army, he brought Greggy there so my son can see Pacquaio in person.

Luckily, my son got included in the pictorial because of his being adorable and friendly towards other people. He always smiles and says “hi” to everyone. So all the people there couldn’t help but adore him.

A few days later, the billboard was up at Bayani Road! The minute my mom-in-law texted us about it, my husband and I drove all the way there to see it. We were so thrilled! My son is the one infront wearing a blue polo shirt. It wasn’t really a nice shot but who cares? At least he’s got included in that billboard. Hahaha! It was really hot that day and according to my dad-in-law, Pacquaio arrived pretty late so Greggy got a little tired of waiting for him.

I just wished they had chosen the picture where my son was smiling and holding up the Philippine flag. But of course they had to choose the one where Pacquaio looks better. :-) Anyway, here’s the close-up version of the billboard…

He covered his mouth and gave me his familiar naughty laugh. I carried him and pinch his nose, “No, mommy’s tummy is not big…”

He shook his head and laughed again, “Tabachoy ka, mommy! Ayun o!” (pointing at my tummy).

Oh well. Kids don’t tell lies… So I might as well be serious with this whole diet thing. Hahaha!
