Quite true, isn’t it? My son is getting more and more inquisitive each day. He would ask questions like:

“What color is this or that, mommy?”
“What’s the English of ____?” (if he hears any unfamiliar tagalog words)
“Mommy, what’s this?” (pointing to an unfamiliar object)
“What did you say?” (if he hears something he can’t understand)
“What are you doing?”
“Are we in Mandaluyong/SM/Mall of Asia/wherever already?”

…And the list goes on. Sometimes he would give funny answers to our questions that really make sense. One time, while he was watching our wedding video, he asked me why he wasn’t there. Bakit daw si lolo, lola, tito, tita, etc. lang daw ang nakikita nya lagi.

His daddy and I looked at each other in disbelief. Then I explained to him, “Baby, you’re still in heaven with Papa Jesus that time that’s why you’re not with us on our wedding day…”

He seemed to have understood what I said and just continued watching the video.

And we knew since then that he’s indeed growing up. Too fast…

I was so touched by his out-of-the-blue question that I couldn’t answer him right away. I guess I was just too stunned by the fact that my two-year-old baby just asked me that kind of heart-warming question. It was amazing. He was wearing his favorite pajamas that night and he looked like a real angel that fell from the sky.

I smiled, stroked his hair and told him: “Of course, baby! Mommy loves you very much!”

Greggy gave me the most mischievous smile I’d ever seen. Then he said, “Talaga, mommy? Pa-burger ka naman! Burger! burger! burger!”

So there. It was the Mcdo commercial after all. Haha!

I burst out laughing! My son really has a good sense of humor. I had only seen that commercial twice so I had no idea that he was just making fun of me. Oh boy! I should’ve seen it coming.

He covered his mouth and gave me his familiar naughty laugh. I carried him and pinch his nose, “No, mommy’s tummy is not big…”

He shook his head and laughed again, “Tabachoy ka, mommy! Ayun o!” (pointing at my tummy).

Oh well. Kids don’t tell lies… So I might as well be serious with this whole diet thing. Hahaha!
