Two weeks ago, my son officially bid goodbye to kindergarten.

My husband insisted on going up the stage this time. And as much as I wanted to accept the English Speaker of The Year award for our firstborn, I knew I had to give way. Hehe.

A year from now, our little boy will be on his way to a bigger challenge — primary school. I’m pretty sure it will be a bigger challenge for us too in terms of handling our finances. But I’m positive that God will provide for our needs as long as we put our 100% trust in Him.

That’s what matters most.

Congratulations, Greggy! And to all the graduates of 2010-2011.

My son officially turned 5 yesterday.

Since we already threw a birthday party for him and his sister last week, we just took the kids out to dinner at our favorite pizza restaurant, went to church, and watched Gulliver’s Travels in 3D. It was a simple celebration, but definitely fun!

Because we’re together as a family. Here are some of our photos.

Greggy and Ayesha’s Birthday Bash

I am happy to announce that my baby girl, Ayesha, turned 1 yesterday! *clap, clap*. And since her kuya Greggy will also be turning 5 a few days later (January 16), we decided to have one big birthday celebration for the two of them at Jollibee.

I am so thankful that almost every one we invited came to celebrate this special day with us despite the very abrupt invitation. Click here for more photos.

I only have one wish for my kids — that they would grow up knowing, loving, and following Jesus with all their heart and soul. When that happens, I know that everything else will follow. I am sure of that.

Yesterday was our neighbor’s daughter’s 7th birthday. Greggy was the girl’s escort on her special day. They look cute together!

For some weird reason, my little boy was shy when he was called to have their first dance. Hmmm…

The party was held in front of our neighbor’s house (which happens to be across from ours), so baby Ayesha and I stayed at our front yard and watched the party the whole afternoon while daddy took pictures at the party.

It’s been three months since I last posted an entry on this blog. How I miss blogging! I have so many stories I want to share – Greggy’s activities and progress in school, baby Ayesha’s milestones, places we’ve been to, things we’ve recently done as a family, etc. Everything has piled up already, and I don’t know where to start.

Hand-me-down

The other day, I caught my son rummaging through his toy box. I asked what he was looking for. He said he’s looking for toys that he could pass on to his little sister.

“Really?” I asked happily, feeling proud of my little boy’s voluntary effort.
“Yes po.” He replied as he continued to search inside the box.

A few minutes later, he rushed to our room and excitedly showed me and his dad the toys he found for his baby sister.

“Mommy, look!” He exclaimed as he handed the toys to me. We told him that we were so thankful and proud of what he did. Not only did he help us save money, he also proved to us that it’s never too early to be generous to others. That at an early age, he knows the value of giving.

If there’s one thing that makes me truly proud of my son, it would be his generous heart. Countless times, he chooses to share whatever he has with others (toys, food, candies, etc.), when it’s much normal to just keep them all to himself. He’s just a kid, people would understand anyway.

With my son’s little act of kindness, once again I was reminded that it is more blessed to give than to receive. And as parents, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing our kids doing the right thing no matter how young they are.

Birthday surprise

Yesterday was my 29th birthday.

I was in front of my computer when my little boy approached me at exactly 12 midnight and gave me the very first birthday card he wrote by himself. Then he said, “Happy birthday, Mommy! I love you…”

I was so touched when I saw his cute handwriting!

Then I saw this gift lying on the floor when I opened our bedroom door. It was a surprise gift from my sweet husband. A Midi DVD Karaoke Player. Something to keep me busy while I’m on maternity leave. Thanks, sweetie!

I didn’t invite friends to come over to our house anymore ~~para hindi magastos~~. LOL. Kung ako nga lang ang masusunod, ayokong maghanda coz we already spent a lot of money for my Cesarean operation and Greggy’s 4th birthday last January 16. But my husband insisted on celebrating my birthday. Kaya ayun, we just invited our relatives to have lunch with us. Leo cooked his specialty – Menudo. I cooked Carbonara. Then we sang our hearts out using our new Midi Karaoke DVD Player.

But of course before ending my special day, we headed to church to attend the 7 p.m. service and gave thanks to the Lord for all the wonderful blessings He had given us this 2010.

Greggy turns four!

Greggy celebrated his fourth birthday last January 16.

I just got discharged from the hospital the day before Greggy’s birthday, but that didn’t stop me from throwing a small party for my li’l boy. I love you so much, Greggy!

The art of doodling

Greggy doesn’t like writing very much. Most of the time he just likes doodling with his pencil. As in, he would just write anything he likes for the sake of writing. LOL. Sometimes if I ask him to write the letter A, he would tell me “No, mommy. Triangle na lang.”

Sometimes I wanna cry. LOL.

One day, I was able to convince him to practise writing using one of the many workbooks I bought for him. Kaya natuwa naman akong pagmasdan sya. Nauto ko rin sa wakas! Haha!

Look at his cute pictures. He enjoyed tracing the letters! And when he’s done, he told me: “Mommy, sakit ng hands ko…tired na po ako…”

Nakunsyensya naman ako. Hehe.
