Blessed Sunday #5: Happy Mother’s Day!

Hello, mommies! How did you celebrate Mother’s Day yesterday? Hope you had a nice time because I did.

Here are the things I did with my family:

I treated my mom to a facial treatment and foot spa at Let’s Face It.

Greggy and I went to Action Station to play while waiting for mama to finish her treatments.

At 5pm, baby Ayesha and Leo followed us at the mall together with my mom-in-law and brother-in-law.

We treated our family to dinner at my favorite restaurant — Shakey’s. Yum-yum! We’re so full!

Right after dinner, we headed to church to catch the 7pm service. It’s my mom’s first time to attend in our Sunday service, so I was pretty excited.

The message last night was dedicated to mothers. It was touching! All the moms were asked to stand and we were greeted Happy Mother’s Day. A few minutes later, the ushers started giving out a small gift to us. A purple fan with these words “Mom, I am your number 1 fan!”. We were also asked to say “Thank you!” and hug our moms. *teary-eyed* Then, we were prayed over.

This is my 4th year as a mom and so far, this is the best Mother’s Day celebration I’ve had. I love Jesus, I love my church and I love my family so much! Indeed, the best things in life are free.

P.S: Mama likes the service since it has a personal touch. She said she’ll ask my brother and sister to join us every Sunday too. Hopefully, they’ll give in.

Blessed Sunday #4: A little distracted

I have a confession to make.

I got a little distracted during the service a while ago. I tried to keep my focus on what Pastor Paolo’s teaching us about God and Government, but deep inside the movie fan in me kept screaming wildly. And why not?! Piolo Pascual was sitting behind us! And not only that, he was with Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jeffrey Hidalgo and other non-showbiz people. Then a few minutes later, KC Concepcion arrived and sat next to us. And just when I was trying to REALLY focus on that day’s message, Ruffa Gutierrez walked in and sat one row apart from us where her friend Miriam Quiambao was waiting. What a star-studded Sunday we had, eh? I felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest! LOL.

I tried to keep my sanity intact and succeeded on hiding my excitement — that is if you’re taking it from other people’s perspective.

But who am I fooling?

I might have fooled the people around me but I could never fool myself, could I? After all, it’s not everyday that you get to sit next to a hoard of celebrity.Â I knew I got a little distracted. And for a second I almost forgot why I was in church in the first place: to worship God and to thank Him for all the blessings he’s given me. We’ve been regularly attending Sunday services at Victory Fort for quite a while now and I am used to seeing one or two celebrities after the service, which is perfectly fine. But to actually be surrounded by quite a number of celebrities during the service is another story. Talk about major distraction! LOL.

Oh well…if this has been a test, then I must have failed miserably. God, forgive me!

Blessed Sunday #3: Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day never fails to remind me of the day we promised to love, cherish and respect one another for the rest of our lives. I still remember quite vividly how we brought everyone to tears (ourselves included) when we had our emotional exchange of vows. It wasn’t a grand wedding, yet it was a day filled with true love that made it really special.

As you can see, nothing has changed very much — except that we both gained weight.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

We spent Valentine’s Day just like a regular Sunday. We rested during the day, went to church in the afternoon and had dinner at the mall. It’s our regular Sunday routine. Nothing exta-ordinary. Because when I’m with my family, every day is Valentine’s Day!

Blessed Sunday #2: Here I Am to Worship

After the service, we headed to Trinoma and let Greggy ride on the train (MRT) for the first time. I swear he enjoyed it! Everyone on the train was staring at him because he kept on saying aloud, “Wow, ang bilis! Wow, ang nice dito mommy!”. Haha! We were laughing all throughout the trip.

It was a tiring (but fun) day. We went home at 11PM. My legs and thighs still hurt until now. Oh what a blessed Sunday we had!

Blessed Sunday #1: Happy Halloween!

Since my family always go out every Sunday after attending the service, I decided to blog about it regularly from now on. I’ll call each entry Blessed Sunday! Have I told you that my favorite day of the week is Sunday? It’s a perfect day for relaxing, bonding with the family and worshiping God. I won’t trade this day for anything else in this world.

Greggy was excited to go to church yesterday. I told him there’s going to be a Trick or Treat party at the kids ministry where he regularly attends Sunday school while his dad and I attend the service on the second floor.

We’re almost late for the 11am service, so we rushed Greggy to his classroom as soon as we arrived at Every Nation building. Some kids arrived in their costume. Even the teachers were wearing special costumes too. How cute!

We had lunch at Pizza Hut and spent the entire afternoon at the mall just like we always do every Sunday. It was tiring but we had a blast! We were able to do a little shopping for baby Ayesha too. We bought her a cute pink crib and a set of comforter and pillows. And guess what? The payment for the crib was reimbursed by my mom-in-law as soon as we got home. Yey! Thanks, mom, for your generosity!
